Alright! I decided that this winter break is the perfect time for me to start making a web comic.

I feel that it's important for me to get used to the way comics are laid out and to try and get myself to produce things faster it'll be good to set some sort of production schedule... but I want the opinions of my friends. Should I go with one of my original stories or should I first try to make a doujinshi (i.e. Harry Potter, Phantom, Final Fantasy, Phoenix Wright and so on)?

What do you guys think? I really need your opinions on this!

a simple and limited story to test yourself out and see how you do. *shrug* just a thought. I think we may share a brain beacuse i've really wanted to turn the one-shot i wrote into a mini-manga.

As far as a story goes, doing your own is a lot of work behind the scenes. I didn't know until I was chest deep in the story how much character design you have to do for even minor characters.

One benefit of doing a fan comic would be, simply, you already have all the source material you need and can really focus on the nuts and bolts of sequential art. After you get that down then I think it would be a lot easier when you start your own original project.

I feel it on the inside
Twisting and contorting
Memory has shaped me once again
Still feel you on the inside
Biting through and stinging
Will I ever forget to remember?
